So, how did day 1 go?
For me, it was an awesome time of reflection. Everyday, I gain more and more of an understanding that even typing right now can be just as much worship as lifting my hands on the stage on Sunday morning. If I come to the realization that God currently is allowing my fingers to move on this keyboard, it's worship. If I realize that I'm only breathing right now because of God's kindness, it's worship.
I loved the quote in the book that "the Christian life is actually one big 'Thou shalt'.....love God."
When I love God, all the good things that "good Christians" are supposed to do will be as natural as breathing.
Looking forward to your comments today!!

Day 1 was a great reminder that worship doesn't just happen (or shouldn't just happen) on Sunday mornings; that we should bring pleasure to the Lord (worship Him) with our everyday actions..
ReplyDeleteI can worship the Lord in the simplest, everyday things. When I am cleaning my house, I can give thanks to the Lord that I have a house to clean.
This is going to be an awesome study..

It was a true joy this morning to learn about true worship and how ican apply it to my everyday actions. Can't wait till day 2
ReplyDeleteThe words that spoke to me from day one's lesson was that the people of Judah when faced with imminent danger, "made the choice to worship." Wow, they made a conscious decision to worship. There was not a hint of hesitation or fear in their decision making process. Because they knew how powerful their God was, they CHOSE to obey and worship.
ReplyDeleteThe next time I am faced with a crisis, I am going to try to immediately set my mind's attention and my heart's affection on Him who is sovereign and worthy of praise. Anything else is a time waster.
